Diving into Morgan's 21st Birthday Celebration at Stoney Cove!
Turning 21 is a milestone, and what better way to celebrate than with an epic dive at Stoney Cove! This past weekend, a group of us from Staffordshire Divers headed out to one of the UK’s most iconic inland dive sites to mark Morgan’s big day in true underwater style.
Why Stoney Cove?
Located in Leicestershire, Stoney Cove is a diver’s paradise, boasting crystal-clear waters, exciting wrecks, and a wealth of marine life. It’s the perfect training ground for divers of all levels and an ideal spot for a birthday dive!
The Dive Plan
The day started with a thorough briefing before suiting up and taking the plunge into the chilly but exhilarating waters. Morgan, now an experienced diver, led the way as we explored some of Stoney’s most famous underwater attractions, including:
- The Stanegarth Wreck – A sunken tugboat resting at 22 meters, providing an eerie but fascinating dive.
- The Nautilus – A submarine-style attraction that always makes for great photos.
- The Deep Hydrobox – A challenge for those feeling adventurous!
Underwater Celebrations
To mark the occasion, we carried a waterproof ‘Happy 21st Birthday’ banner, capturing some fantastic shots of Morgan beaming with excitement. The group also enjoyed some playful moments feeding the local perch and pike that call Stoney Cove home.
Post-Dive Festivities
After surfacing, it was time to warm up with some well-earned hot drinks and a slice (or two) of birthday cake! We shared stories, laughter, and reflected on an incredible day of diving.
A Birthday to Remember
Morgan’s 21st was truly unforgettable, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. From the thrill of exploring the depths to the camaraderie of our diving family, it was a day filled with adventure and joy.
