It’s always great to see the mix of excitement and nerves before they get in, followed by the smiles when they come back up! We’ll also have two of our trainees continuing their BSAC Ocean Diver course and building their skills as they work towards becoming qualified divers. 🚢 Another incredible sight from our Croatia diving adventure 🇭🇷🤿 The wreck of the **Francesca da Rimini** rests upright on the seabed near the island of Kaprije. The wreck lies between approximately 38 and 50 metres, with parts of its masts reaching shallower depths. Dropping through the clear blue water and watching this impressive wreck slowly appear beneath us was an amazing experience. There was so much to explore, with its structure now covered in marine life. ✈️ A very special sight from our Croatia diving trip 🇭🇷🤿 The remarkably well-preserved wreck of a Junkers Ju 87 Stuka aircraft, resting beneath the clear waters near the island of Žirje. The aircraft was shot down during the Second World War and now lies at around 28 metres. Seeing such an important piece of history underwater was an incredible and unforgettable experience. 🇭🇷🤿 **Staffordshire Divers – Wrecks, Wings and Deep Walls!** 🤿🇭🇷 Another absolutely amazing day of diving yesterday, and Croatia just keeps getting better. Our first dive was on the **Francesca da Rimini**, a fantastic shipwreck sitting in around **52 metres of water**, with the top of the wreck at roughly **35 metres**. Dropping down through the incredible Croatian visibility and seeing the wreck gradually appear below us was an amazing sight. At that depth you don't get unlimited time to explore, but there was plenty to see and it was another cracking deep dive. ⚓️🌊 The afternoon brought something completely different, the wreck of a **Junkers Ju 87 Stuka**. ✈️🤿 The Stuka was a German **Second World War dive bomber**, with that distinctive old wartime fighter-plane appearance. Seeing an aircraft sitting on the seabed, with so much of it still recognisable, made this a very different wreck dive and definitely one of the highlights of the trip. We've had a bit of everything now: caverns, swim-throughs, stunning visibility, deep walls, huge purple sea fans, shipwrecks and even an aircraft wreck. And we're certainly not going shallower today! 😁 Today we have **two wall dives planned**, with depths potentially reaching **around 60 metres**. After the spectacular walls we've already seen in the Kornati National Park, we're expecting another couple of very special dives. 🇭🇷🤿 **Staffordshire Divers – Croatia just keeps getting better!** 🤿🇭🇷 Yesterday’s dives were absolutely amazing! The first dive had **loads of beautiful swim-throughs**, but one in particular was something special. We swam through and eventually surfaced inside the island! Looking up through a hole in the ground, we could see the trees and scenery above us while knowing we were actually **underneath the island**. An incredible experience and definitely one to remember. 🌳🌊 The second dive was a stunning **wall dive in the National Park**. The wall was covered in beautiful **purple sea fans**, and of course we managed to turn it into another deep one, reaching **40 metres**. 😁👌 Today looks like it could be another special day. This morning we’re visiting a **shipwreck sitting in 52 metres of water**, with the top starting at around **35 metres**. 🇭🇷🤿 **Staffordshire Divers – Croatia Day One!** 🤿🇭🇷 What a start to the week! Our first dive was on a beautiful wreck lying on its side, with plenty to explore. Highlights included some fantastic **scorpionfish** and an absolutely **massive octopus** 🐙 Dive two was a nice little **50-metre dive**, followed by a pretty strong current to battle against on the way back to the boat! 💪🌊 Excellent diving so far, and we moored up in a lovely little port last night for the evening. 🇭🇷🤿 **Staffordshire Divers have arrived in Croatia!** 🤿🇭🇷 What a start to the week! The boat is absolutely amazing and we’re all settled in ready for some fantastic diving. 🚤🌊 First night ashore and somehow we’ve ended up in a pub surrounded by **hundreds of bikers**, with rock music blasting out! 🏍️🎸🍻 Not quite what we expected from night one of a diving liveaboard… but we’re definitely not complaining! 😂 Diving starts tomorrow. 🇭🇷 Croatia Adventure Begins! 🇭🇷 On Saturday, Staffordshire Divers head off for an incredible week of liveaboard diving along the stunning Croatian coastline. This trip has a bit of a twist... rather than staying in one place, we'll be mooring at a different island each evening, giving us the chance to explore the beautiful towns, harbours and local culture after a fantastic day's diving. 🤿 **Another great day of diving and training!** A fantastic day continuing lessons for our **Sports Diver and Dive Leader** trainees, with plenty of learning both in and out of the water. Today also included practical training in **CPR and the use of an AED**, with our resuscitation manikin Annie getting plenty of use! ❤️‍🩹 These are really important skills for divers to learn and, just as importantly, to practise regularly so we're prepared if they're ever needed. 👉 **Coming to BSAC NW Dive Fest ?** Make sure you go and see **Frontline Learning**, who will have a stall at Dive Fest and will be running practical demonstrations covering **CPR, AED use and trauma care**. Don't just watch, **get involved and have a go!** It's a great opportunity to practise potentially lifesaving skills with experienced instructors and ask questions.
