  • Joining fee: no separate joining fee is listed on the current published club membership application route.
  • Training costs: course packs, certification fees and materials are separate where applicable.
  • Diving activity costs: dive-site entry, boat places, travel, accommodation, gas and equipment charges can apply depending on each activity.

Example joining cost scenarios

  • Existing BSAC member joining the club: club membership fee only (monthly or annual), assuming current BSAC membership remains active.
  • Qualified diver who also needs national membership: club membership fee plus the applicable national membership fee published on the official BSAC page.
  • Returning diver route: membership fees above, plus any refresher or familiarisation costs if required.

Assumptions: examples avoid double-counting existing memberships and separate recurring membership from one-off or activity-specific costs.

What’s included?

Included in the membership fee: club membership status and access to club communications and activities that are open to your route.

Available to members but usually charged separately: training and learning materials, equipment use or hire, air fills, dive-site entry, transport, accommodation, boat diving and trip costs.

Subject to availability or extra requirements: pool access, training places, buddy/group planning and some social events or dive opportunities.

Insurance

BSAC membership may include member insurance benefits, but cover is defined by the official policy terms. Review the current wording and limits on the official page: Insurance and membership terms.

Cover depends on policy terms and does not automatically mean every dive activity, overseas trip, medical expense or cancellation is included.
