PADI Qualified? Come Diving with Staffordshire Divers

Already qualified with PADI and looking for people to dive with? Staffordshire Divers welcomes enquiries from Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Divers and other PADI-qualified divers.

Whether you learned abroad, want to explore UK diving or are looking for further training, tell us about your experience and what you would like to do next. We'll explain how to get involved, any preparation needed and the membership arrangements that apply.

Can I join with my PADI qualification?

Yes. We welcome PADI-qualified divers and review each enquiry based on qualification level, recent experience, confidence in UK conditions and the type of diving you want to do.

When you contact us, we'll discuss your background and suggest suitable next steps before you commit to anything.

Do I need to switch to BSAC?

No immediate switch is assumed. Club membership and national membership requirements are explained during the joining conversation, and progression options are discussed based on your goals.

If you want to continue training, we can explain the routes available through the club and any prerequisites that apply.

New to UK diving?

If you qualified on holiday, UK diving may introduce unfamiliar equipment and conditions. Tell us where you trained, when you last dived and what exposure protection you have used. We can discuss suitable preparation and diving opportunities that match your experience.

There is no need to pretend you are confident with something you have not tried before. Asking questions helps us understand what support you need.

Returning after a break?

Your qualification tells us about your training, but your recent experience matters too. If you feel rusty, have forgotten skills or simply want reassurance, contact us before arranging your next dive. We can discuss suitable refresher or training options.

Read our returning to diving guidance.

Keep developing your skills

For divers wanting to progress, we can discuss available PADI-focused development and crossover support through the club. Further training depends on prerequisites, instructor availability and scheduling.

What is club diving like?

Members hear about dives and trips through club communications, then express interest based on experience, availability and conditions. We help match divers into suitable buddy arrangements for the dive plan.

See recent club trips and reports for examples of the diving our members do.

How to get started

  1. Send a quick enquiry with your qualification, approximate last-dive date and diving interests.
  2. Meet members at club night and discuss your experience with the team.
  3. Agree suitable next steps for joining, diving and any refresher or progression needed.
