Dan takes the plunge and qualifies at Capernwray

Another new diver to celebrate

There is another achievement to celebrate at Staffordshire Divers: Dan has completed his entry-level diving qualification at Capernwray.

Having started as a new diver, Dan has reached an important milestone in learning the skills needed to explore underwater with a buddy.

More than a certificate

Completing a diving course brings together practical training and an understanding of the underwater environment. It introduces habits that remain important throughout a diver's experience.

• Preparing equipment and checking it with a buddy.
• Understanding the plan before entering the water.
• Maintaining awareness of depth, time and breathing gas.
• Communicating and staying together during the dive.

Qualifying is an achievement worth recognising, and it creates a foundation for continued learning.

Building experience, one dive at a time

Every dive offers something to build on. That might mean refining buoyancy, becoming more familiar with equipment or discovering a different site.
