Tori completes her drysuit qualification at Stoney Cove

TRAINING SUCCESS · STONEY COVE

Well done, Tori! Celebrating her drysuit qualification and another step in developing her diving skills.

Adding a new set of skills

Congratulations to Tori on completing her drysuit qualification at Stoney Cove.

Drysuit training introduces skills that are particularly useful for UK diving. It is another achievement we are pleased to celebrate at Staffordshire Divers this year.

What makes drysuit diving different?

A drysuit keeps water away from the body, while suitable insulation worn underneath helps the diver stay warm. Using one introduces additional considerations when preparing for a dive and controlling position in the water.

Training covers skills such as:

  • Preparing and checking the suit before entering the water.
  • Managing the air inside the suit during the dive.
  • Understanding how the suit affects buoyancy and position.
  • Recognising and responding to drysuit-related problems.

Putting the training into practice

Completing the qualification is a valuable step, with continued practice helping divers become more familiar with their equipment.

For Tori, Stoney Cove was the setting for this achievement. We look forward to seeing her build on the training during future club dives.

Congratulations, Tori. Another achievement to be proud of!
